Go Green with Wool Dryer Balls

dryer balls

 Woolzies Review and Giveaway

Looking for an Eco-friendly alternative to dryer sheets? Wool dryer balls may be your answer. Using anywhere from 2-8 Wool dryer balls with your clothes to reduce drying time, soften your fabrics and reduce static on most fabrics. *Static may still occur with fleece fabrics. Wool dryer balls are also safe for cloth diapers unlike commercial fabric softeners.

Did you know dryer sheets leave a film on fabrics? Could that be why so many use them to reduce water marks on faucets? Are you sensitive to the fragrance oils? Did you know it can aggravate skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis? There is at least 10 known chemicals in fabric softeners.

Last year I had purchased 6 dryer balls on Etsy from a local merchant. They made my clothes soft without the use of yucky fabric softeners. They didn't shorten my dryer time like I had hoped. I also do 9 loads a week & after roughly 504 loads of wash they are not doing their job. The clothes are still soft but they are unraveling. I tried washing in a
stocking on hot and then drying but it didn't seem to help. I know the merchant had good intentions but their craftsmanship needs some work.

Soft By Nature, Inc.  graciously sent me 6 dryer balls for review. The first difference between my current locally made and Woolzies was the density. Both are similar in diameter but the Woolzies are compact and denser. I immediately noticed the drying time was much shorter. I decreased the drying time with each load. It takes a minimum of 30 minutes to completely dry a large load of towels or sheets. The dryer blows cooler air below 30 minutes (damp setting). I was really impressed. My drying time went from 60mins to 30mins. That's 50% difference!

I have learned you can easily scent the dryer balls with essential oils. I use a mini sprayer with water and a few drops of my favorite scent (patchouli). I shake the sprayer before applying. It leaves a very light scent and smells like heaven by the outside vent.

Go green with Woolzies dryer balls. Eliminate chemical residue on your skin, clothes, our air and water. Save energy with shorter drying times. Reduce waste in our landfills.
